Van Halen

So they are one of the greatest bands of my life. I own all there recordings, have seen them in concert, and by god I need to visit Sammy in Cabo. But in the end Eddie and Alex are just ..... really can't come up with the word. Come on Rock N Roll Hall of Fame induction. Put some of this shit behind you for one night. And David Lee Roth .... You don't show because they won't let you play the song you want?
Well at least the two outcasts, Sammy Hager and Mark Anthony, there. I really think some of the best Van Halen has Sammy in front anyway.
So a big Congrats to Sammy and Mark. To bad Eddie (tho I do wish him well in rehab),Alex, and Wolfgang (?).

Missing Van Halen boys steal the show at induction

Pop Music Critic New York -- Would the virtuoso guitarist put his demons behind him? Could the lead singers bury the hatchet? And would the jilted bassist swallow his pride? tay tuned for the latest episode of "As Van Halen Turns," aka the 22nd annual Rock and Roll Hall of Fame induction ceremony. Grandmaster Flash and the Furious Five, R.E.M., the Ronettes and Patti Smith also were enshrined Monday night at the Waldorf-Astoria Hotel, although the soap opera surrounding dysfunctional hard-rock group Van Halen all but stole the show. The first sign of trouble came last month, when plans for Van Halen's long-awaited reunion tour with original vocalist David Lee Roth were abruptly scrapped. In a message posted Thursday on the band's Web site, guitar player Eddie Van Halen, who has struggled with alcoholism, announced he was entering a rehabilitation facility. He and his drum-playing brother, Alex Van Halen, did not attend the Rock Hall's black-tie gala. Roth was MIA, too. Ever the egomaniac, which is part of his appeal, he reportedly was unable to reach an agreement with event organizers aboutwhich song he would sing during the festivities. It fell to his successor in the vocals department, Sammy Hagar, and erstwhile bass player Michael Anthony (booted from the group last year in favor of Eddie's teenage son, Wolfgang) to represent what was left of the once-proud Van Halen legacy. Hagar and Anthony acknowledged their missing bandmates and wished Eddie well.
